Marketing

As a previous restaurant owner marketing became my number one priority.  For seven years the main restaurant that I operated had sales increases of 20% or greater.  Yes, 20%!  How, one simple principle, the marketing must be track able.  If I couldn’t track the results, I did not do it.  This principle drove sales people crazy.  Radio sales people would come in and tell me how they were number one in the…  At the end of the sales pitch I would ask if we can track the results. No but we are number one!  I would look them in the eye and say “I’ll give you $10 for each customer you can prove came because of the ads”.  Needless to say I never paid full price for radio ads but I did have a contra account with the local radio station.  The results could only be measured in extra sales increase during the ad period.

We put coupons in competing tourist publications, community newspapers, yellow pages and every ad we placed we could track and then the world changed.  Welcome to the Internet age and the change to traditional marketing. The new world of social media, google ads, online reservations and the list goes on.  The problem is that the Internet age of marketing has yet to be fully defined leaving restaurant operators scratching their heads on how to market.  How do we spend the marketing budget and get results?  It has become a tough campaign trying to find the right marketing mix that maximizes the results of the expenditure.

If you are looking for cost effective marketing that blends traditional methods with the new age we highly recommend that you contact us.    ROI can take care of many of your marketing needs from email and snail mail management to collection of customer data.  With ROI doing all the work you know your marketing campaigns will be strong with track able results.

Should you use social media? Absolutely but twitter and facebook should only be a part of your marketing campaign.  It is hard to track the results of social media and twitter can be very time consuming to maintain.  We have seen some great individual results from twitter campaigns but we really feel social media has yet to mature to the point we really know how to maximize it’s usage for marketing in the hospitality business. .

Marketing is getting about butts in seats.  If you don’t get the butts in the seats then you are wasting marketing dollars.  To get butts in seats contact us for cost effective marketing with results.
